The Bear And The Maiden Fair – Game Of Thrones REVIEW [S03xE6] [CONTAINS SPOILERS]

Yet another thrilling instalment of Game Of Thrones and yet another episode filled with tension, love, laughs and cliffhangers!

This episode showed us that Daenerys ain’t fucking about when it comes to being the ‘Breaker of chains and mother of dragons.’ It appears that Daenerys is like a Spartacus with more fire power (I couldn’t resist, I’m sorry). How big have her dragons got though? I love how feisty the purple one is. Daenerys will not be messed with and she’s scary.

Theon, where the hell is that guy?! One of the most powerful scenes in terms of psychology. The girls start looking after him and he’s all resistant and then you’re sat there like “this can’t be happening, where’s that creepy guy? There’s got to be a twist!” and it just goes on and on. So long that in fact, like Theon, you forget where he is and you let your guard down just as the creepy guys sounds the alarm, or trumpet, and brings us crashing down to reality. The next part is particularly savage and thankfully it blurs out just as, what we expect is happening, he castrates Theon of his manhood.

Finally someone told Gendry that his dad was King Baratheon. About time right? Now he knows that he isn’t just any bastard and actually he’s the rightful aire to the Iron Throne. Quite right too. I don’t trust that crazy fire woman though, there are things about her that I like but she’s mental too. Maybe she’ll sex this guy too and create another crazy shadow demon thing.

Rob’s knocked up his new bird, surprise surprise, am I the only one that hates her? Am I meant to hate her? She’s the only woman in the show that I’d rather not see naked and yet there she is, bare bottom in the air being all “sexy” if you like that. She’s distracting Rob from the war and basically fucking shit up for him really. I guess love is blind and all that stuff.

Bran wants to go North of the wall and we learn just why he really shouldn’t go there. I love that Game Of Thrones has zombies in it, or ‘white walkers’. They’re fucking scary as shit. So now he’s back on track to Castle Black, along with the wildlings.

Ygritte and Jon Snow are heading that way and we find out why that bird whisperer man hates Jon Snow so much, Jon’s pretty and he’s bedding the woman he loves. I can’t help but feel they’re all going to die but one thing is certain: most people are heading to castle black.

Grampa Lannister puts Joffrey in his place and about time. I love the way that Joffrey thinks he holds the power when in reality he holds very little. I also loved the bit when Joffrey complains that he has to climb his Gramp’s tower to get to council meetings and Grampa Lannister says “We could arrange to have you carried”. Gramps isn’t taking any of his shit.

My favourite Lannister is a proper gentlemen in this episode. Just when I thought I couldn’t love the Kinglsayer anymore and he bloody saves her from a bear, as well as quite possible multiple rape attacks and being murdered. I love it all. How intense was this scene though? The scratch mark on Brienne’s neck looks horrific and for a short time I was ver convinced she would in fact be eaten by that bear. Jamie jumps in, jumps in front of her and saves her. Even with one hand missing he’s saving lives. I can’t believe a character I despised is now one I love. I can’t wait for Brienne and Cersei to meet. The jealousy is going to be HUGE. This should be soon as he’s heading back to King’s Landing.

Talking of which, Margaery is trying to teach Sansa how to the make the best of a bad situation, by basically telling her that Tyrian is meant to be good in the sack. It’s also quite funny how innocent Sansa really is and how much Tyrian is coming round to the idea of their wedding, even if he won’t admit it! I love Margaery by the way and her whole family. They’re hard as balls and if anyone can deal with the mentalist psycho that is Joffrey, it’s probably her. Maybe.

AND OH MY GOD HOUND HAS ARYA, THIS CAN NOT END WELL. OH MY GOD. NO. NO. NO.Bring on the next episode!

The Office [S09x22] REVIEW [CONTAINS SPOILERS]

OH MY GOD

I am an emotional wreck right now! That episode was just everything I wanted it to be and more.

The surprises were amazing, Jim and Pam make my heart ache and I just CAN NOT BELIEVE the Angela and Dwight story-line.

So we’re almost at the end of The Office, a heart breaking concept but this episode was everything you’d want from a second-to-last episode.

We had:

• Ridiculous Dwight rules & regulations for the office (the security door)
• Andy trying out for Acapella Idol and failing but meeting a woman just as crazy as him
• An amazing Jim prank on Dwight
• Kevin gets jealous of Phillip like a teenager does with a younger brother
• A flash-back through Jim and Pam’s build up to their relationship (I sobbed through this)
• AND Jim finally gives Pam the note he hid in her teapot Christmas present in Season 2
• Dwight finally realises he loves Angela and he always has, he proposes and Angela admits that Phillip IS INFACT Dwight’s (this is hinted at through the show with Phillip choosing a beet over money and some other hilarious things Dwight notices) I cried through this too
• Daryl’s exit dance scene was amazing too

In this episode the documentary is airing and they are all preparing in their own way. I love how the writer’s have rounded off everything you wanted. I’m so happy things worked out for Dwight and Angela too.

I’m an emotional wreck, I can’t believe it’s almost over!

The Big Bang Theory or How May Different Ways Can We Put Penny In Something Revealing And Tight (Season 6)

I’m not sure how everyone feels on this matter, and I’m pretty sure the men appreciate it more than I do, but as we’re getting into season 6 I feel The Big Bang Theory has lost something and gained far too many scenes in which Penny is put in next-to-nothing. 

To break it down really, Sheldon isn’t as bad with people anymore, even though he does have a new level of ‘bad boyfriend’ awkwardness, it’s not the same. Sheldon is obviously the funniest character, like How I Met Your Mother’s Barney, but he’s lost what made him hilarious. Don’t get me wrong, he’s still awkward, but it’s not as funny as it used to be. It’s getting quite tedious. 

I love the introduction of Bernadette and Amy too, Amy is becoming my new favourite character but they steal away some of the magic of the male group. I know character’s have to progress but it’s getting ridiculously cliche…

The joke that Raj is gay is over the top (especially the addition of the small dog Cinnamon , Penny as the the sex symbol has become obscene (in particular the episode were the boys are fighting over the new tenure and Penny is put in the skimpiest outfit yet) and Howard has married a woman that is a lot like his mother. It’s not as clever as it used to be and it sucks.

So that’s How I Met Your Mother and The Big Bang Theory disappointing me. Boo.

Kissed By Fire – Game Of Thrones S3 Ep5 Review [SPOILERS]

Isn’t it lovely when a show just gets better and better? I have to say this episode marked a turning point for me with the characters. People I once hated, I love now and people I thought were up to something weren’t.

Let’s start with the crazy God of Light shall we? What the frik is up with that? So Hound kills this dude and then, after some crazy drunk chanting, he’s back to life? I love Arya in this scene, I really thought the little thing was going to stab Hound. I love her, she’s fiery and tough. Such a strong female, amongst the many strong female characters. She also made me cry, “I can be your family” didn’t your heart just break? Mine did. Poor Arya.

Jon Snow finally did the dirty with Ygritte, and boy was it dirty. I’ve been waiting for Jon Snow to break his oath and deal with the sexual tension between him and Ygritte for a very long time. How spectacular was the sex scene? Talk about not taking no for an answer. I think they might be my new fave couple and, because I haven’t read the books, I’m sure one of them will die by the hand of the other. I feel something along that line will happen. Maybe.

By far my favourite scene in this episode is between Kingslayer Jamie and Brienne whilst taking a bath. We learn, finally, just how Jamie REALLY got the name Kingslayer and how it REALLY happened. We all hated Jamie right? He’s doing his sister and pushed Bran out a window, ultimately crippling him but now I’m starting to really feel for him. He’s lost his hand, he’s in love with his sister and everyone hates him for potentially saving everyone in King’s Landing from death by wild fire. I just loved the line “Jamie, my name’s Jamie”.

King Of The North Rob had to make a difficult decision and he appears to be losing the war. I’m not sure how Rob’s going to fair against 3 dragons and Daenerys’ arm of super-soldiers anywhoo but I’m not entirely sure what the King Of The North is up to.

Another amazing scene between the Lannisters leaves us knowing that Tyrion is being made to wed Sansa, much to his dismay, and Cersei will marry Loras Tyrell to her displeasure as well. It all seems to be going tits up for the Lannister’s and their love lives.

What I didn’t like about this episode is that we didn’t visit Theon, due to the HUGE cliffhanger we were left with last week the suspense is killing me. Who has him locked up? Why did he rescue him to take him back? AHHH

This was definitely an amazing episode. I always feel that the first 5 minutes and the last 5 minutes are the most dramatic. This episode didn’t disappoint in that aspect.

Expectations were exceeded. Just when I think I know were the show is heading, it knocks me off my seat. Every storyline, from north of the wall, to the Iron Islands, had a major plot twist.

If you haven’t seen it yet, stop what you’re doing and go watch.

Game Of Thrones Season 2 Favourite Scene [SPOILERS]

So, like I have previously posted, here is my favourite scene from season 2 of Game Of Thrones.

I loved this scene and the mystery surrounding Jaqen H’gar. I just want to know: WHO IS HE?!?!

HIMYM season 8 review [SPOILERS]

Peaks in the middle and goes down hill from there. As well as too many filler episodes, that have no real relevance to the plot. We know too much about how the story unfolds that episode 19&20 are pointless. Actually, they recycle previous problems between the characters. Marshall’s not supporting Lily with her art and is struggling as a lawyer. Robin tries to change Barney’s ways but realises she loves him how he is.

Considering we are approaching the series and, in fact, the programme’s climax an answer to it’s title, how Ted meets the mother, we should be excited and anxious but we aren’t. The episodes should be creating even more impatience in the audience but instead we know where it’s going and we’re not sure if we care anymore.

The series has lost a lot of it’s humour and to be honest it has lost a lot of it’s intelligence and creativity. Compared to previous episodes, such as the Robin play, which showed how talented the show’s writers can be, these episodes seem like the writers have gone to sleep. The rest of the season is dull and uncreative. It borders on desperate. Before, the show was effortlessly humour filled and now it seems they’re clutching at straws. I am aware that not every episode can make a season but these filler episodes deserve more.

I’m hoping the season finishes a lot better due to the fact we have waited patiently for 8 long seasons to see how Ted does, in fact, meet the mother. There is also talk of a possible ninth season…

(And if the characters break into song one more time, I will literally quit the show)
